Business Mission to the United Kingdom
On December 3-7, 2018 a delegation from Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, with representatives from 7 well-known Lithuanian companies and experts from the Chamber, was visiting the United Kingdom for a business mission.
The companies UAB Straikas, UAB Prieskonių Ambasada, UAB ODA LT, UAB Lotofagas, UAB Ri Consulting, UAB Logvila and UAB Ustukių malūnas had a meeting with professional lawyers and experts, business development consultants, representatives from the Lithuanian Embassy in the UK of Great Britain, and of course, with the companies from the United Kingdom – some potential business partners.
The business delegation alongside with the partners of the Chamber was participating in the event organized by East Midland Chamber. During the event the delegation was introduced to the opportunities of potential business development in the central United Kingdom, where most of the main industry is based, and consulted lawyers for their advice on the related topic.
The Lithuanian Embassy in the UK greeted the delegation of the Chamber with the attaché of commerce Mantas Zemžickas and business development specialist Guy Pearson from Pearson Business Solutions, who accompanied the delegation for the presentation about Brexit given by Mantas Zemžiskas. A meeting was also held with the partners of the Chamber, University College London, which carries out many of the collaborative science projects.
The leaders of Lithuanian companies had individual B2B meetings with potential partners and consultants, which were set up by organizations affiliated with Enterprise Europe Network.
As reported by the participants of the mission, the meetings, discussions, and product presentations have been successful.
According to the director of UAB ODA LT Irena Jokšienė, the aim of the mission is to find strategies attracting suitable distributors, understanding and familiarizing with market of the United Kingdom. Well-organized meetings give good outcomes – beneficial meetings with marketing specialists, prospective clients. The visit to the United Kingdom offers a lot of hope.
The director of UAB Lotofagas Rimas Kantaravičius also said “The purpose of this visit to discover possibilities of presenting our products to the market of United Kingdom, finding trade partners, who would be interested in our products, learning more about the market of the UK. We are now aware of the places we still need to work on, how to present ourselves better, things that have the most influence. We are also glad that we received contacts for future development.”
The director of UAB Straikas Gintaras Didžiokas recounted “The objective of these business missions is to find clients, partners, importers and distributors of products produced by the company. We were able to have a meeting with companies who showed an interest, and it seems that there are possibilities for initiating sales in future”.
The business mission to the United Kingdom was organized by Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts in collaboration with the partners, the expenses of the participants were partially funded by the Chamber’s project “Joint Export”.
